What H4 means
H4 on the ASKO WCN311942G three-zone wine climate cabinet is a humidity sensor error for the outside environment. Unlike H1 to H3, this sensor measures the air around the cabinet rather than inside a zone, and the control uses it to adjust how it runs. The touch display shows a pop-up when the reading is unusable. Do not apply this to an ASKO washer or dryer, where the same characters mean something else.
Common causes of H4
- The outside humidity sensor
- Its wiring and connector
- Heavy moisture or heat in the room around the cabinet
- The control board input for the sensor
1. Press X or Confirm to leave the pop-up behind. 2. Check that the cabinet sits in a ventilated spot and that nothing blocks the vents. 3. Wipe up any water near the cabinet and keep the room from becoming damp. 4. If the message comes back after 3 hours, call us, as the owner's manual advises.
- We cannot say from the display whether the room conditions or the sensor are the issue.
- We check the outside sensor reading against the actual room and test its wiring.
- You see a written price before work, and we give a 30-day workmanship warranty.

How is H4 different from H1?
H1 is the humidity sensor inside zone A and reports on the bottles stored there. H4 measures the air outside the cabinet, so the problem is not inside any of the three zones.
Does my room matter for H4?
Yes. A damp or poorly ventilated room can affect readings and how hard the cabinet has to work. We look at the installation and the surroundings as well as the sensor itself during the visit.
Will H4 hurt my bottles?
Not directly. It is a reading problem, but we suggest watching the zone temperatures until it is sorted out, and we can confirm what is happening when we test it.
Still seeing H4?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
