The ASKO T700B is a tumble dryer from an earlier ASKO generation, and the B at the end is part of its full number. It sits next to the T700 in numbering, but parts may differ, so the serial number plate settles which of the two we have.
If a dryer like this hums while the drum stands still, the first suspect is the belt. We open the cabinet, look at the belt, the idler and the drum supports, and check the motor pulley. The motor hums but the drum will not turn. What is the likeliest cause?
A snapped or stretched belt, or a seized idler pulley. We open the cabinet to see the belt and drive, then quote the repair. A new belt is a modest repair if the part can be found for a machine this old.
Is the T700B different from the T700?
The B belongs to the full number and can change which parts fit. We read the plate and order to match. That is why we do not order parts for a B model from the T700 number.
Why does my dryer thump as it turns?
Worn drum rollers or an uneven belt are usual causes. We inspect both and replace what is worn. Replacing rollers in pairs keeps the drum turning evenly and makes the repair last longer.
