What Protection enabled (screen lock) means
On the touch display of an ASKO T5 tumble dryer (TD86 platform, for example the T5HXLG.U), this message means the screen lock is on. The lock keeps stray touches, such as a child's hand or a wet cloth, from changing the program. It is a protection setting and not an error. Nothing is wrong with the dryer, and the screen only needs to be unlocked before you can use it again.
Common causes of Protection enabled (screen lock)
- The touch screen lock was switched on, by you or by someone else in the home
- A stray touch that turned the lock on
- Nothing wrong with the dryer itself
1. Find the two icons at the bottom of the screen, a lock icon and the icon to its left. 2. Drag the left icon toward the lock icon until the screen unlocks. 3. Or press both icons at the same time, which also releases the lock. 4. If the screen still does not respond, schedule service.
