What CLEAN FILTER means
Clean Filter is a maintenance message, not a breakdown. It shows on ASKO T761 and T781 dryers with the LCD, and on the TD70.2 and TD70.3, such as the T743C and T753C. The TD70.2 and TD70.3 print Clean Lint Filter, Clean Condenser after every 100 cycles, and Clean Auto Filter after every 10 cycles. The T5 dryers print Clean the Lint Filter or Clean the Lower Lint Filter. Each one asks you to clean a filter so air can move freely.
Common causes of CLEAN FILTER
- Lint packed on the lint filter
- A condenser coated with fine lint
- An auto filter that has not been cleaned
- A filter put back in the wrong position
1. Pull out the lint filter and wipe off all the lint. 2. If your model asks for it, clean the condenser and the auto filter as the Cleaning and Maintenance chapter describes. 3. Put the filters back firmly. 4. Start a cycle. If the message stays after cleaning, tell us which words show on the display.
- Whether the message is a plain reminder or the airflow is really restricted
- Whether the vent or condenser path beyond the filter needs service
- Whether a sensor is stuck on a reminder after the cleaning

Is Clean Filter an error?
No. It is an information message that asks for routine cleaning. The dryer is not broken, but a dirty filter will lengthen drying times and strain the machine.
How often should the condenser be cleaned?
The TD70.2 and TD70.3 ask for the condenser after 100 cycles and for the auto filter after 10. Clean the lint filter itself after every load.
What if the message does not go away?
Then ask us for a visit, and we will check the airflow path and the control.
