What F52 means
F52 means the control cannot trust its water level reading. It appears on ASKO DBI564IS.U, DBI564TS.U and DBI564PS.U dishwashers, and on DFI and DSD models that show F-codes. The level is measured through a sensor, and a value that is missing or that does not match the fill and drain steps raises the message. The program stops, usually with some water remaining in the tub.
Common causes of F52
- A level sensor that reads wrong
- A hose to the sensor that is kinked or plugged
- Filters or sump clogged enough to confuse the level
- A loose connector at the sensor
1. Clear the message with any button. 2. Rinse the coarse and fine filters. 3. Look at the drain hose for kinks and make sure the supply valve is open. 4. Start a program. If F52 returns, keep the dishwasher off.
- Whether the sensor is bad or a plugged line is feeding it a wrong pressure
- Whether the trouble happens on filling, draining or both
- Whether the connector at the sensor is in good order

Why would a clogged filter set off F52?
A clogged filter slows draining, and the water level then rises and falls differently from what the control expects. Cleaning is the first step, and it sometimes ends the problem.
Is the sensor the same as a float?
The control reads level electronically, not with a simple float you can see. We test the sensor and the line leading to it with proper instruments.
