What F68 means
F68 names the drain pump on an ASKO dishwasher with the F-code display, for example the DBI564IS.U, DBI564TS.U or DBI564PS.U, or a DFI or DSD. The pump is a brushless DC motor that sends used water out through the drain hose. If the control finds it blocked, stuck or silent, the program ends and F68 is shown. Water usually remains in the bottom of the tub.
Common causes of F68
- Something wedged inside the pump housing
- A motor that no longer turns
- A broken wire or loose plug at the pump
- The board that sends the pump its drive signal
1. Clear the message by pressing any button. 2. Unblock the drain pump as shown in the owner's manual. 3. Follow the hose under the sink and straighten any bend. 4. If the code returns, stop using the dishwasher and contact a service center.
- Whether something is simply stuck in the pump or the motor has given out
- Whether the drive signal from the control is correct
- Which pump fits your model, confirmed before we order it

What makes a brushless pump different?
It has no brushes to wear down, but it needs a signal from the control to turn. When the pump or the signal fails, the water stays in the tub and F68 appears.
How is this different from F11?
F11 says water is not leaving the tub. F68 points to the pump motor as the part in trouble. The two can look alike from your kitchen, so we check the pump and the drain path together.
