What F12 means

Seeing F12 on an ASKO DBI564IS.U, DBI564TS.U or DBI564PS.U, or on a DFI or DSD with the F-code display, means the tub did not fill fast enough. It is the first of two water inlet messages. When the level fails to rise in time, the control ends the program. The owner's manual starts you at the supply valve and the filters.

Common causes of F12

  • The supply valve under the sink is shut or half open
  • Coarse or fine filters coated with debris
  • An inlet valve that opens weakly
  • Low pressure where the dishwasher connects
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Open the water supply valve to the dishwasher all the way. 2. Rinse the coarse filter and the fine filter. 3. Run any program and see if the message clears. 4. If F12 stays, close the supply valve and leave the dishwasher off.

! Why to stop there
  • Whether the inlet valve opens completely or is clogged inside
  • Whether enough pressure reaches the machine from your home's plumbing
  • Whether the level sensor notices water once it arrives
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
F12F12 questions
What causes F12 on an ASKO dishwasher?

The fill took too long. A closed valve and dirty filters are the usual reasons, and both take only minutes to check before you call.

The filters are clean and F12 returned. What next?

Then the trouble sits deeper in the water path, such as the inlet valve or pressure at your connection. We test the fill path step by step.
