What F10 means

F10 on a TD70.1 condenser or heat-pump dryer from ASKO, the kind with the type B LCD panel such as the T743C and T753C, means the condensed water tank is full. About 30 seconds after the program starts, the dryer checks the tank's microswitch, and if it still reads open the cycle stops and F10 appears. The water pulled from your laundry gathers in that tank and must be emptied.

Common causes of F10

  • A tank that is full or not seated all the way
  • Clogged or kinked drain hoses
  • The drain pump, or the float and microswitch, not working
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Pull out the condensed water tank, empty it, and slide it back in until it seats firmly. 2. Turn the main switch off, then on, and restart the program. 3. Look at any visible drain hose for kinks. 4. If F10 returns with an empty tank, schedule service.

! Why to stop there
  • Whether the hoses carry water freely or are clogged
  • Whether the drain pump runs
  • Whether the float and microswitch read correctly with a full and an empty tank
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
F10F10 questions
Why does F10 show right after I start a cycle?

The dryer checks the tank microswitch about 30 seconds into the program. If the tank reads full or is not seated, it stops. Emptying and reseating the tank usually settles it.

The tank is empty and F10 is still there. What now?

Then the switch, hoses or pump need checking. We clean the hoses and test the pump and microswitch, because a hose or switch problem can mimic a full tank.
