What E1 means
Code E1 appears on the display of a W5114RXLW or another ASKO W5 series model when the washer reads the water temperature wrongly or cannot read it at all. The manual also ties it to inlet water that is too cold. The washer stops heating and ends or pauses the program, and clothes may sit in water at the wrong temperature.
Common causes of E1
- Cold water coming in from the supply, which can look like a sensor reading
- Temperature sensor and its connector
- Wiring between the sensor and the control
- Control reading the sensor signal
1. Repeat the washing program. 2. Check that the hot and cold supply valves are fully open and the hoses are not kinked. 3. Try a cooler program if you were running a hot one. 4. If the error is reported again, schedule service, as the owner's manual directs you to a technician.
- A cold supply and a weak sensor can show the same code, so we check the incoming water first
- We measure whether the sensor reading follows the real water temperature before we replace anything
- Our price is on paper before work starts, and a 30-day workmanship warranty follows the job
Other Washer codes
Why is my ASKO washer showing E1?
It means a temperature sensor problem. The washer cannot get a believable water temperature, and the manual notes that inlet water that is too cold can cause it.
Could my water heater cause E1?
Yes, very cold supply water can trigger it. Check that hot water reaches the washer, and if it does and E1 returns, the sensor or its wiring is the next thing we test.
Can I wash cold loads while E1 shows?
You can try, but the code may stop the program again. Repeat the program once, and if the error returns, wait for service before running more loads.
Still seeing E1?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
