What F10 means
The ASKO W6444A and other W6 washers that share its F10 to F12 error list print F10 when too much water has entered the drum. These are older models still in many homes, and we repair them. The program halts with the drum fuller than it should be. Because water may still be entering, the first move is to close the water tap.
Common causes of F10
- Inlet valve that does not close fully
- Water level sensor or its hose
- Control that keeps the valve open
- Drain pump that is not keeping up
1. Shut off the water tap at once. 2. Then follow the steps for F11, the drainage error: check for objects in the drain hose outlet, check the pump, and check that the hose has no kinks. 3. Restart once the water is out. 4. If F10 returns, schedule service.
- The overfill could come from the valve, the level sensor or the control, and only testing separates them
- These W6 washers are older, so we check that parts exist before repairing and tell you honestly when a repair makes little sense
- You get a written price before work begins, and our repair is covered for 30 days

What does F10 mean on an ASKO W6 washer?
It means overfilling. The washer took in more water than it should, so it stopped the program, and you should close the tap before doing anything else.
Why does the manual point to F11 after F10?
Overfilled water usually has to be pumped out, and that is the job of the drain system described under F11. Check the drain hose and pump, then restart.
Do you repair older W6 washers?
Yes. W6 washers are common in Houston laundry rooms even now. Hard-to-find parts are checked before we commit, and the price is given to you in writing before the repair.
Still seeing F10?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
