What E7.2 means
On a W5114RXLW or any other ASKO W5 series washer, code E7.2 tells you the washer used more detergent than it needs, which can cause too much foam in the drum. Foam makes the washer rinse and drain poorly and can lead to a draining error. This code is about the amount you pour in, so it usually needs no repair.
Common causes of E7.2
- Detergent dose higher than the load needs
- Soft water that makes the same dose foam more
- Detergent not made for front-loading washers
- Soap left in the dispenser from earlier loads
1. Use less detergent for the next load. 2. Measure by the load size and how soiled the clothes are. 3. Make sure the detergent is made for front-loading washers. 4. Run an extra rinse if foam is still visible. 5. Wipe the dispenser clean.
- If E7.2 returns even with a small dose, the cause may be in the drain system or the level sensor, and we test them
- We check that the washer drains foam and water properly, because repeated foam can hide a drain problem
- Should a repair be needed, the price is in writing before we begin, and a 30-day workmanship warranty applies
Other Washer codes
Why did my ASKO washer flag too much detergent?
It means too much detergent. Excess detergent causes heavy foaming in the drum, and the washer flags it before foam causes a drain problem.
How much detergent should I use?
Follow the amount on the detergent label for your load size, and use the lower end for light loads. The owner's manual suggests using less when E7.2 shows.
Do I need a repair for E7.2?
Usually not. Cut the dose, run a rinse and the code should stay away. If it comes back with a small dose, we check the drain and level sensor.
Still unsure about E7.2?
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
