What E10 means

A W5114RXLW or another W5 series ASKO shows E10 or E10.1 when its water level sensor, which tracks how high the water stands in the drum, gives a reading the washer cannot accept. The program stops, and the drum may hold too much or too little water. A clogged machine filter or wall trap can cause an odd reading, so the filters are the first place to look.

Common causes of E10

  • Clogged machine filter or wall-mounted trap
  • Water level sensor and its hose
  • Wiring or connector at the sensor
  • Control reading the level signal
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Unplug the washer, plug it back in and switch it on. 2. Drain and clean the machine filter, then clean the wall-mounted trap. 3. Restart the program. 4. If the error comes back, schedule service, per the owner's manual, which calls for a technician.

! Why to stop there
  • If a clean filter does not clear E10, the sensor, its hose or the wiring is next, and we test each one
  • We check that the level reading matches the water actually in the drum before we replace a part
  • We clear standing water from the drum safely before we start, and a written price comes first
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
E10E10 questions
What does E10 mean on an ASKO W5 washer?

It is a water level sensor error. The washer cannot read how much water is in the drum, so it stops the program instead of guessing.

Why do I clean the filter for a sensor error?

A blocked filter or trap changes how water drains and settles, which can confuse the level reading. Cleaning it is quick and sometimes ends the error.

What is E10.1?

E10.1 is the same level sensor error in a slightly different form. The steps you take are the same: reset the power, clean the filter and trap, and call us if it returns.
