What E7.1 means
For ASKO W5 series washers, W5114RXLW included, code E7.1 is an alert from the drain system, not a full stop. The washer pumps water out more slowly than it should during the pumping stage. The program may still finish, but if the cause stays, it can turn into a full draining error. A dirty pump filter is the most common reason.
Common causes of E7.1
- Pump filter partly clogged
- Drain hose partly blocked or kinked
- House drain slowed down
- Drain pump that is starting to weaken
1. Let the program finish, or stop it and drain the washer. 2. Clean the pump filter as shown in the Cleaning the Filter chapter of the owner's manual. 3. Check the drain hose for kinks. 4. Run a short program and watch the drain.
- A clean filter that does not stop E7.1 points to the hose, the house drain or the pump, and we test them in that order
- We watch the pump during a real draining cycle before we decide it is weak
- Any repair starts with a written price, and our work is warranted for 30 days

What is E7.1 warning me about?
It is a drain system alert. The water leaves the drum more slowly than normal during the pumping stage, so the washer warns you before it stops.
How is E7.1 different from E7?
E7 means the washer could not drain at all in the allowed time. E7.1 is the early warning that the flow is reduced. Clean the filter now and the full error may never come.
How often should I clean the pump filter?
The owner's manual says to clean it when needed. Lint and small items collect in it over time, so a quick look every few months helps before E7.1 appears.
