What E3 means
E3 shows on a W5114RXLW or another ASKO W5 series washer when the washer does not take in water as expected. The program pauses with little or no water in the drum. Most often the cause is outside the machine: a closed tap, a kinked hose, a clogged inlet filter, or low water pressure.
Common causes of E3
- Water tap partly closed
- Inlet hose kinked or its filter clogged
- Low or uneven water pressure
- Inlet valve that does not open fully
- Drain hose set at the wrong height
1. Check that the water tap is fully open. 2. Make sure the supply hose is not kinked and its filter is clean. 3. Check that the drain hose is at the correct height. 4. Press OK to resume the program. 5. If E3 returns, schedule service.
- If the tap, hose and filter are fine, the inlet valve or the level sensor is next, and we test both
- We check the pressure at the washer, because low pressure alone can trigger E3
- The price comes in writing before work, and 30 days of workmanship warranty follow the repair
Other Washer codes
My ASKO washer will not fill and shows E3. Why?
It is a water filling error. The washer did not get enough water in the expected time, so it paused the program.
Can a clogged hose filter cause E3?
Yes, it is one of the most common causes. Turn off the tap, unscrew the hose, clean the small screen, and reconnect it before pressing OK.
Does the drain hose height matter?
It can. A drain hose set too low lets water leave the drum as it fills, which looks like a filling problem. Follow the height in the owner's manual.
