Most common issues on this model
- Burning or hot-metal smell during a cycle
- Cabinet feeling very hot to touch
- Thermostat or cutout tripping often
- Lint around the heating area
The ASKO T721 is a retired ASKO tumble dryer that plenty of households still depend on. A burning smell or a cabinet too hot to touch is a reason to switch it off and have us take a look.
Overheating almost always starts with airflow. We inspect the lint screen, the cabinet interior, the exhaust path and the area around the heater for lint, then test the safety cutouts and thermostats to see whether they are protecting the dryer as designed. We do not return the machine to service until we have found why it ran hot.
Because the smell may point to lint near the heat, the sooner we look, the better. The serial number plate tells us the model, and we check what parts are still available. Please ring or send the online form soon, and we will confirm a three-hour arrival window.

My dryer smells like it is burning. Is it safe to use?
Switch it off and unplug it. Lint close to the heat is a hazard, so we inspect the vent, the cabinet and the heater before the dryer goes back into use.
Why does the cabinet get so hot?
Poor airflow is the usual culprit, so we clear the path and then test whether the cutouts open at the right point. We also test the thermostat and safety cutout to be sure they work as they should before the dryer is used again.
Will you repair it or tell me to replace it?
That depends on what testing shows. When a repair would cost more than it is worth, we tell you plainly before charging anything for it. You decide after hearing the results, and a repair that is not worth the cost is never pushed on you.
