What E7 means
A W5114RXLW or another W5 series washer from ASKO shows E7 when it cannot pump the water out of the drum within the time allowed. The program halts with water left in the drum and the door locked. A clogged pump filter, a kinked drain hose or too much detergent are the usual causes, so they are the first places to check.
Common causes of E7
- Pump filter clogged with lint, coins or small items
- Drain hose kinked, blocked or set at the wrong height
- Too much detergent, causing foam
- Drain pump with a weak or jammed impeller
- House drain that is partly clogged
1. Restart the program. 2. Check and clean the pump filter, and check that the drain hose is clear, not kinked, and at the right height. 3. Make sure the drain itself is not clogged and use less detergent. 4. Press Exit again. 5. If E7 reoccurs, schedule service.
- If the filter, hose and drain are clear, the drain pump or its wiring is next, and we test both
- We check the drain pump with water in the drum, so we manage the water before we test
- Our written quote comes before work, and we guarantee our workmanship for 30 days

Why is water left in my ASKO washer with E7?
It is a water draining error. The washer could not empty the drum fast enough, so it stopped the program with water still inside.
Can too much detergent cause E7?
Yes. Foam slows the pump and can trigger the error. Use less detergent next time, run a rinse if foam remains, then restart.
How do I get the water out?
Follow the owner's manual to drain through the pump filter. Place towels and a shallow pan under it first, because the water comes out quickly.
