W6903
ASKO W6903 Family-Size Washer Repair
Most common issues on this model
- Knocking or grinding at spin speed
- Door interlock holding the door shut
- Leak during fill or drain
- Fill that is slow or absent
The W6903 is an older ASKO washer from the family-size laundry range. Its sister number, the W6903FI, comes from the designer range, so we confirm from the serial plate which of the two you own.
Family-size washers take large loads, and large loads strain bearings and mounts. A grinding or knocking sound at spin speed is where we look first, then the door interlock if the door will not open, and then the hoses and the door boot if there is a leak. A fill that is slow or absent gets the screens and valves checked.
We check what parts can be sourced for this out-of-production washer before we begin, and the estimate is on paper before any work. If the repair cost approaches the cost of a newer machine, you will hear that from us.

What is the difference between the W6903 and the W6903FI?
The two numbers are sister models, one from the family-size range and one from the designer range. We check the label so we order the right parts for yours.
My washer is loud when it spins fast. Is that the bearings?
It can be, but an unbalanced load or worn mounts can sound similar. We listen, turn the drum by hand and inspect before we say which it is.
The door will not open after the cycle. What now?
Either the interlock is holding, or water remains in the drum. We check both and release the door without forcing the latch, so nothing is broken in the process.
